Create a Triptych

Triptychs are a group of three pictures telling a story and have been popular for a long time. They often have hinges or folds, so you have 2 ‘front doors’ which open onto your main image.  They can be square or have shaped or rounded tops. Download the activity sheet here

ACTIVITY
Cut out your shape and fold along the lines so the outer edges meet in the middle (like doors)If you want a shaped top, cut when it is folded. If you are not keen on cutting you can simply paint over the lines. Decide on your theme and start with the front. Fold it into place so the inside/middle is hidden then paint, colour or collage your image.

Open it up and proceed with the inside image. It can be one continuous image or 3 separate but related ones.
