Paint Like Cezanne – with Paul Oakley

Workshop created by Paul Oakley

French artist Paul Cezanne (1839 – 1906)  painted at the end of the Impressionist period and is well known for his paintings of fruit and kitchenware.

Cezanne is known for his use of blocks of colour and also note his use of a line around each of the elements within the still life (known as a bridging line).

Create your own still life painting using similar objects to Cezanne. This could be different types of fruit, a plate and jug – or anything else similar which you have to hand and would like to try painting.
