Remains of the Day

Before you chuck it in the bin, take the remains of what you have just eaten, such as an apple core, banana skin, egg shell and draw/paint it. It might be good to splay out your banana skin like an octopus, (thank you Alan in Marlborough) or put the apple core beside a whole apple.

Gather things as you go through the day – an empty yoghurt pot? A cereal packet? – and draw each one. At the end of the day you will have a picture of ‘the remains of the day’.
Then you can bin your collection (unless it would make good art materials for another day)
