Spring News

This is a resume of the art activities in the groups over the last few weeks. It’s not comprehensive but hopefully gives a flavour of the creativity, enjoyment and continued support the sessions provide.
Most of these pictures and words have already appeared on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, but we recognise that many of our followers don’t use social media – and why would you when there are better things to do with your time – but we try to cover everyone’s preferences. Just don’t ask for personal hand written mailings by post!!

Works in progress and it’s easy to see the Picasso influence in these ceramic masks being made at the Marlborough Group.

We have a running vest. And we have a runner in the London Marathon. Just need to get them together now!
Neil is edging towards his target of raising £2000. If you want to chip in £1 (or 2, or 3) and support Arts Together you can here Arts Together Marathon
And it’s all action at the Marlborough group with Jane in charge!! Turn the volume up!

This Bradford on Avon member wanted to show off the fan she made during a recent session – decorated with herons. Beautiful!
A glimpse of the good folk in Trowbridge enjoying a recent painting session – with some ethereal music to match the Aboriginal theme.
Sometimes a project sparks off something in an individual and lights a creative fire! Gladys started making her lighthouse back in January during the sculpture sessions in Corsham. Since then she has been working on it at home and sent these photos to prove she has finished! She says; “the project has been very important to me as I have been using my hands and playing with my imagination. I really got into doing paper-mache and have risen to the challenge of using lots of recycled materials; cork for sand, egg boxes for the boat, pieces of wood from the new Italian in town, green bottle tops and much, much, more”. There is also an associated story of how her relative was born in a lighthouse! Nice work Gladys.

The start of a new project in Corsham exploring lettering as pattern and design. It’s going to be interesting to see where this leads and how it develops over the coming weeks

And finally – an illustration for the colouring book being created by the Devizes Group
That’s all for now. Not all of the groups are represented here but there will be more images and words from Pewsey, Bradford on Avon and Devizes soon.
