  1. Media coverage update on cuts to services

Our campaign of voicing our frustration at the local authority cuts targeted at group members has been picked up by the media. The Guardian newspaper has made reference to our situation in an online blog about cuts right across the country. It seems their material came not from the letter we sent them but from placing our “cut” on the Voluntary Sector Cuts website. But it is worth reading the Guardian Blog by Patrick Butler to see how the smallest reduction in local authority support impacts on people’s lives. So far the cuts voluntarily posted on the site by those organisations that have taken a hit totals £58million, but the eventual figure could be £3-5billion.
